Wish List // Summer/Fall 2015

Since this chapter of my life (high school if you didn't know) is close to the end, one thing that I'm focusing on is to become a better version of me. I feel like in high school, you are kind of stuck in a rut sometimes and are attached to the same character you've had for all 5 years. Now, that I am on the path of starting university I feel like I need to revamp myself and become the person that I really am. To do that well, what better way than to create a wish list and go shopping. Over the past month, I have been adding a lot of stuff to my wishlist. I'll share a couple with you guys.

1// Frends Headphones

Source: Wearefrends.com

My oh my, aren't these beautiful. Rose gold is probably one of my favourite colours aside from mint green. It's just so beautiful and classy. Rose gold just looks so good on these headphones. I'm obsessed! For years, I've been buying the cheap headphones from the drugstore that usually break in about 3 months or so. Since, I'm becoming older I felt like maybe I could invest in a pair of really nice headphones. Check them out here.

2// Macbook Air

Source: Pcmag.com

The new computer for university, of course. This is probably on every high school senior's wish list but it's a useful tool for school. I've been using my Macbook Pro for about 4 years now and I just feel like it's becoming slower and slower by the day. How do you expect me to excel in university when it took 10 minutes to boot up my computer? Jokes aside, though my computer still works, I feel like it's time to turn the page and start fresh with a new computer. Will I end up buying this, maybe? I'll probably wait until the back to school sales start.

3// Bkr Water Bottle

Source: Littlelessy.com

I don't know what it is about water bottles but I truly feel like I am addicted to buying water bottles. I probably have 10 at home. I really don't know what but I just can't stop buying them. I don't just buy regular water bottles though, I like water bottles that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, which is why the Bkr Water Bottle is on my wishlist. It's so cute and portable that I really feel like it would be great for university. It comes in so many different colours that you're bound to find one you like. Even though it is a bit expensive for a water bottle, I feel like it will last you a long time, or I guess until I buy another water bottle.

Well, that's just a couple things on my wishlist. My list goes on and on, trust me. It's a bit embarrassing that I have so many things on my wishlist. I obviously won't get all of these things, but hey a girl can dream right?

Beauty Favourites // May

Hello readers! How are you doing today? This past month, I've actually been a couple new makeup products and I have found two that I really like. I would love to share them with you and maybe you will try them out in the future. For me, I love trying out new makeup, there are always new products coming out and product packaging is just getting better and better. There's nothing better than an amazing makeup product with beautiful packaging. Let's get started!

1// Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

The first time I picked this product up was at London Drugs and it was on sale for only $3.99! What a steal! I never thought that I would be as in love with this product as I am. I've honestly never tried a foundation that I love so much. I think what I love about it the most is that I was actually able to find my perfect shade. If you didn't know, finding a foundation shade that matches you perfectly is pretty difficult. I also love that it keeps me shine free all day.

2// Dove Dry Shampoo

I first heard of this product over at the website Nouveau Cheap. I have never used dry shampoo before so I was really intrigued. The first time that I used it, I fell in love. One, it smells amazing and two, it really works! It soaks up any excess oil in your hair and makes it look fresh and ready to go for the day. I love it! It is honestly a lifesaver if you are a student. You may think it's gross but sometimes there is just too much to do and you don't have time to wash your hair. That's where dry shampoo comes in and saves the day! Seriously, if you have never tried dry shampoo before, you are missing out on the good stuff!

Those are all the beauty favourites that I have for this month. I am planning on trying out new products for graduation so if you have any recommendations, please let me know! I would love to hear from you.

Healthy Living Intro // How To

Now that graduation is inching closer and closer, I need to get my lifestyle back on track. I've found that the past couple of months have been well, not very healthy. Who can blame me? Summer is rapidly approaching and sometimes students just need a little break from everything. Well now that valedictory is one month away, I have to make sure I look great in my graduation dress.

The foods that I eat are honestly not that unhealthy. I think that my demise is that I have no motivation to exercise. I know I need to change that though so I actually got myself a gym membership at the country club. Hopefully this will jumpstart my motivation. Maybe I will be able to rally up some of my friends to join me on my health journey. I've been wanting to live healthier for a while now but again I've never really stuck to it. Now that my high school journey is coming to a close, I thought well why not start my health journey now? I'm getting ready to start a new chapter in my life so why not start healthy?

I'm actually really excited for this journey. I know that sometimes eating healthy and working out are not always the things that you want to do but I know for a fact that the end outcome will be totally worth it. I recently bought a new blender so that I could make veggie smoothies for breakfast. I bought the Ninja Professional blender because it was on sale and it looked like a really good blender for its price. I've read that having a veggie smoothie for breakfast is a great way to start eating healthier. I stumbled upon this website www.kimberlysnyder.com and found so many great tips. You should definitely check it out. On this website, I found a great smoothie recipe which I have copied down below.

Closet Staples// Guide

Hello everyone! For this post, I will be talking about closet staples and how to pick staple pieces for your wardrobe.  For years, I've been buying trendy items and clothes that are more affordable. However now that I'm getting older, maturing and getting ready to go to university, I have now focused on maturing my wardrobe and buying more sophisticated pieces.

1// First things first to create a perfect wardrobe that fits your style is to get rid of any old clothes that you will not be wearing anymore. Make yourself three piles, one for items that you wish to keep, one for items you wish to donate and the last one will be for clothes that just have no more life in them and need to be thrown away.

2// After you have clean up your closet, it's time to find new staple pieces for your closet! My favourite part, who doesn't love shopping? The key to purchasing good staples pieces is that that item has to be able to go with 5 different outfits. If it doesn't, it's not a staple piece. A staple piece means that you are able to wear that piece multiple ways and that it will go well with everything. By choosing staple pieces, you are able to condense your wardrobe and simplify your life. It's a win win, you get to shop and you get to simplify your life. Some of my staple pieces are a cozy cardigan, black riding boots and a chambray shirt. They all go so well with everything!

One of my absolute favourite stores is www.oakandfort.com. The clothes there are very simple, but are excellent staple pieces. It's also not too expensive too. I highly recommend you check it out.

3// Sometimes when you go shopping you end up buying staple pieces that you realise aren't actually staples pieces when you get home. In this case, you can just easily return them. However, sometimes you figure this out 6 months later, then what do you do? Well, there's nothing that you can really do except for donate them but I do have a tip for you to help you figure out which pieces aren't staples in your closet and need to go. When you are hanging up your clothes, hang all of your clothes with the hangers facing outwards. By doing so, you can easily see which items of clothing that you have actually worn in a time period and which ones you haven't. After 6 months, the hangers that are still facing outwards, well you can say goodbye to those pieces.

That's it for this post, hopefully your closets will be transforming and you will be buying more staple pieces in the future.

Intro and Being More Organized! // How To

With work and school just piling up, one day I was just like 'Stephanie, you have to to get your act together, you have to be more proactive, work harder and be more productive, and be more organized!'. Since then, I have been working extremely hard to keep up my good habits and I only want to get better. With this blog, hopefully I will be able to inspire you to live a better life and along the journey, I will be able to become a better version of me. To start off my blog, here is one incredibly amazing way to become more organized.

Keep an agenda//write to do lists

For years, I've always wanted to keep a really nice and organized agenda but something always happens and I stop keeping an agenda. I start off the year really motivated and for some reason my motivation just goes downhill as the year goes on. However this year, I told myself that this year I would not allow this to happen again. I would keep writing in my agenda, each and everyday. I started in September and now that it's May, I can surely conclude that my motivation is still high and I am still writing in my agenda! It's honestly been such a life changing habit. I always know what I have to get done, I never forget any important dates and overall, I just feel a lot happier and less stressed out. A good tip for keeping your motivation up is to make your agenda look aesthetically pleasing. When you are out shopping for an agenda, don't purchase just some plain jane agenda. Buy an agenda that you think looks pretty. My personal favourite is the Kate Spade agenda.

Isn't it just adorable? I love the way that it is so classy and cute. Having a pretty agenda can really help motivate you keep going. Another tip is to colour code. By colour coding, you can clearly see which notes are from school, work etc. For me at least, looking at boring black can really dampen my mood so I make sure that I liven up my agenda with some pretty colours. My favourite pens to write in my agenda with are the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner.

These pens come in so many different and bright colours that you'll be sure to find one you like. I love these pens because they don't bleed through the page so your agenda will be pristine looking from beginning to end. One of my absolutely favourite online stores to get new stationary is www.jetpens.com. I love this site, there are so many items to choose from. I hope you will check it out!

Well that concludes my first blog post, I hope you've enjoyed reading it and I hope you will take something away from it. I love to be organized now so in the future, I will create more posts about ways to become organized!
